Bethany Feeds Must the 22nd of every month -Every month on the 22nd Bethany's mission group headed by Dirk Ebener serves dinner at Elizabeth Inn. A sign up sheet is available on the missions bulletin board or you can contact Dirk directly to volunteer. A group of Bethany volunteers prepare dinner and travel to Elizabeth Inn located just off US-41 north of Marietta every month. Roughly 50 guests of Elizabeth Inn are fed every evening. Volunteers serve dinner and some who can stay to spend the night and do the laundry. Your contribution of time would be welcome whether for preparing dinner, serving dinner or spending the night. Bethany has been a constant supporter of MUST and the Elizabeth Inn. Participating is a rewarding way to give back to the community. Teens with parents are welcome to volunteer.

Habitat for Humanity - Bethany has been involved in numerous Habitat for Humanity projects. The numerous opportunities to proactively become involved in a hands-on mission project is one of the outstanding benefits of this special mission. The interaction with other churches and volunteers is highly attractive. We encourage our members to participate in one or several weekend days. Join Habitat for Humanity and be a hands-on volunteer.   Visit the Smyrna/Cobb Coalition work site online and see what we are building in 2006.

Call for Habitat volunteers

If you are interested in supporting the Habitat project on one of the upcoming Saturdays, please contact Dirk Ebener at 404.542.5576 or de1996@aol.com. You can also download the forms on the church web site or sign up at the church across the Habitat Brick Wall. We are looking for volunteers who can spend a couple of hours on either Saturday morning or afternoon at the Habitat construction site just off Mableton Parkway. Please help us to make a difference in the community and participate in building a home for the 2006 Habitat Homeowner, Gertrude.

Gertrude has two children, Loretta (age 9) and Albert (age 7). Gertrude, who has worked as a nursing assistant for five years, is willing and eager to partner with Cobb Habitat for Humanity and Smyrna/Cobb Coalition and has already attended many of the required classes for homeowners. The family is eager to change neighborhoods. Gertrude feels that being a part of Habitat would give her family a sense of dignity and pride.

If you are looking for additional information, a complete Habitat package is available at the church office.

MUST - This is another very rewarding projects where our Christian love shows an immediate effect in our community. Our church serves dinner every 22nd of the month. Involve your Sunday School Class or join in with some of your friends. Make a Christian difference right now and then. Please contact Dirk Ebener to schedule your group for one of the available days.

Youth Missions - Our church offers numerous opportunities for young people to be active in their church. Mission trips, church activities and many other programs offer a great way to be involved and active. Come visit our youth page and see what we are all about.

Keep Cobb Beautiful - This is another outstanding opportunity for members of all ages to be active in our community. In 2005 we had three project days where we cleaned up the areas around our church. We were able to increase the beauty factor by 30% and highly encourage our members to become an active participant in this quarterly project.

Other Projects include such worthy organizations as Open Gate and the Battered Women's Shelter.
