Bethany is proud to sponsor local troops of the Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America.
Our Boy Scout Troop #61 is a very active Troop with over thirty boys and lots of dedicated adults. Here are some things that Boy Scout Troop 61 has done in 2009:
- We went to Camp Daniel Boone, near Asheville, NC, for summer camp.
- Camp outs included a weekend of shooting sports where the boys learned about rifles and shotguns, a caving trip, cycling the Silver Comet and hiking the Pinhoti Trail in Alabama (30+ miles)
- We collected food for MUST Ministries
- We learned about diversity, community service, and drug awareness from guest speakers
We meet every Monday night at 7:30 pm in the Scout Lodge at Bethany. If you have a son that might be interested in scouting or if you might want to help, come visit a meeting or call Terry or Jan Wullschleger at (770) 436-8379. Come join us!

Cub Scout Pack #61 is a large and active group, made up of boys from 1st through 5th grades who want to get started with scouting.
We meet in back of the church (in the gym) across the parking lot from the Scout Lodge. Meets are held on Tuesdays and begin promptly at 6:45pm. Parents are to walk their boys into the gym, and parents of Tiger Cubs (1st graders) are required to stay with their boys in the meetings.
